ON Sports signs deal for Caf Champions League early rounds

Egyptian sports broadcaster ON Sports will broadcast the preliminary round matches of two of Egypt’s biggest teams in the Confederation of African Football Champions League.

Egyptian newspaper Egypt Today reported that the broadcaster negotiated directly with Egyptian football clubs Al Ahly and Zamalek after Caf gave the clubs permission to handle their own rights in the competition’s opening stages.

It is thought that Caf will negotiate broadcast rights from the competition’s Round of 16 stage onwards.

The clubs both open their Caf Champions League campaigns on Sunday, August 11.
