UK subscription broadcaster Premier Sports has widened its reach by agreeing a carriage deal with streaming service netgem.tv.
The tie-up will allow netgem.tv customers to access the Premier Sports 1 HD, Premier Sports 2 HD and Freesports channels, featuring the likes of Spanish LaLiga and Italian Serie A football matches, as well as cross-border rugby union league the Pro14, via fibre optic connectivity.
Earlier this month, Premier Sports struck a deal with the BBC for highlights from the Pro14 to return to public-service television in the UK.
Premier Sports, the tournament’s main rights-holder in the UK from 2018-19 to 2020-21, took on the commitment to broadcast a highlights programme as the regional BBC channels in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales failed to negotiate an agreement to retain highlights after losing their live rights.
