Rice promoted to new president position at 21st Century Fox

US media company 21st Century Fox (21CF) has elevated Peter Rice to the newly formed position of president.

In addition to working with 21CF leadership on key strategic initiatives, Rice (pictured) will continue to serve as chairman and chief executive for Fox Networks Group, a role he has held since 2012. 

In this capacity, he will continue to oversee Fox Sports, as well as Fox Broadcasting Company, FX Networks, National Geographic, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Networks Group Latin America, Europe and Asia.

At Fox Networks Group, Rice has driven the growth of the company’s television business across both linear and OTT platforms, including overseeing the launch of the FS1 and FS2 sports channels in the US.

21st Century Fox executive chairman Lachlan Murdoch and chief executive James Murdoch said: “As part of our ongoing work to evolve and expand the 21CF leadership structure, we’re pleased to name Peter to this newly created position.
