The Saran Media agency has signed a three-year extension to license Formula One’s television rights in Turkey.
The deal agreed with Formula One Management, the commercial rights-holder of the motor-racing championship, covers F1’s 2015, 2016 and 2017 seasons.
The agreement comes after Saran on Monday extended its rights deal with Turkish Super Lig top-tier football club Beşiktaş.
The worldwide agreement, excluding Turkey, includes audiovisual rights for the club’s qualifying matches for the Uefa Champions League and Europa League tournaments, as well as friendly games.
The extended deal is worth a total of $5m (€3.6m) over five years, from 2013-14 to 2017-18, or $1m per year. The contract has been back-dated to include the 2013-14 season, during which Saran also worked with Besiktas.
Turkey held an annual round of the Formula One season from 2005 to 2011 at the Istanbul Park Circuit.
