French telecommunications company Altice has agreed a rights deal with British boxing promoter Matchroom through which its pay-television broadcaster, SFR Sport, will hold the exclusive rights in France and Belgium to heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua’s next three fights.
The deal will commence with this month’s world heavyweight clash between Joshua (pictured) and Kubrat Pulev. The British fighter will defend his world heavyweight titles against Bulgaria’s Pulev on October 28 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
As part of the agreement with Matchroom, SFR Sport will also exclusively broadcast seven other major fights throughout 2017-18.
The deal builds on SFR Sport’s boxing portfolio, which already includes the fights of Team Altice, those of the French team in the World Series of Boxing, the International Boxing Association’s World Championships and fights from US promoter Top Rank.
