Silknet picks up Premier League in Georgia

Telecommunications company Silknet has acquired rights in Georgia for English Premier League football.

The rights cover three seasons, from 2013-14 to 2015-16.

According to the Georgia Today newspaper, Silknet’s SilkSportHD pay-television channel will show live coverage of five or six matches per week.

Silknet acquired the rights in a sublicensing deal with Turkish agency Saran Media. In February, Saran acquired rights for the next three seasons of the Premier League in a deal covering Turkey and Eastern Europe.
