UK pay-television broadcaster Sky has acquired rights to the inaugural Netball Quad Series, with a number of games from the national team competition set to be broadcast on its new Sky Sports Mix channel.
The Quad Series features England, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia, with the latter two countries co-hosting the maiden event, which runs from August 27 to September 4.
Sky Sports will broadcast all six games live, with four of the matches featuring on Sky Sports Mix. Having launched on Wednesday, Sky Sports Mix is being made available to non-sports subscribers at no extra cost and will be free for customers in the UK and Ireland with a basic Sky subscription.
The Quad Series has been masterminded by the coming together of netball’s national governing bodies in Australia, New Zealand, England and South Africa. The new Sanzea collective brings together the sport’s four commercially strongest nations with the intention of building the depth of the game internationally and showcasing netball at the highest level on a regular basis.
Following the inaugural Quad Series, England and South Africa are set to co-host their maiden event early next year.
