Sony Pictures Networks India has revamped its senior management structure, with its sports business set to be more closely aligned to its distribution interests.
The IndianTelevision website said along with the changes in sport, SPN’s international business will be consolidated within the network’s sales and syndication business.
Rajesh Kaul’s role is being expanded to SPN distribution and sports president, while SPN sports business head Prasana Krishnan will now report to Kaul.
Rohit Gupta will switch from being SPN network sales president to SPN’s network sales and international business president.
Commenting on the changes, Sony Pictures Networks chief executive NP Singh said: “This realignment is configured to further our global business ambitions. It allows us to maximise complimentary synergies existing within the network and augment SPN’s consideration as a partner-of-choice by brands and businesses, alike.”
Sony, formerly known as Multi Screen Media, holds a broad sports portfolio in India, including rights to the Indian Premier League through to the 2017 edition of the Twenty20 cricket competition.
