Media group Sony Pictures Networks India is to rebrand a number of the channels it acquired from the Ten Sports arm of pay-television operator Zee Entertainment Enterprises.
SPNI chief executive NP Singh told the Indian Television news website that the channels would be rebranded next month.
SPNI controls the Ten 1, Ten 1 HD, Ten 2, Ten 3 and Ten Golf HD channels after completing the first stage of its purchase of Ten Sports in February. It has not been confirmed what the channels will be called.
Sony’s suite of channels also includes Sony Six, Sony Six HD, Sony ESPN and Sony ESPN HD.
Sony’s takeover of Ten Sports was valued at around $385m (€345m).
