Sports data and technology company Stats Perform has agreed a deal with the Liga Profesional de Fútbol del Ecuador (LigaPro) for data rights to its Serie A and Serie B club competitions.
Stats Perform’s Opta and RunningBall brands will exclusively collect and distribute data to licensed betting operators, broadcasters, publishers, fantasy providers and the leagues’ digital platforms.
As part of the agreement, Stats Perform’s Integrity Unit has been appointed to help protect the integrity of LigaPro by monitoring global betting markets, delivering an extensive integrity intelligence programme and providing its performance integrity analysis service.
Miguel Ángel Loor, president of LigaPro, said: “We are excited to be working with Stats Perform. Not only will they help us improve on-field performances through deep and accurate data, they will support us in preventing match manipulation and betting fraud. Stats Perform’s pedigree for collecting deep, accurate and fast data and unrivalled distribution network will help us engage fans globally and grow the sport we love.”
Stats Perform recently agreed a multi-year deal with Dutch AI-based visualisation company Beyond Sports for the usage of its positional tracking data of football’s English Premier League.
Last month, Stats Perform also extended an exclusive deal with Belgium’s top-tier Pro League and second-tier 1B Pro League to collect and manage data from the two competitions through its Opta division. The deal was signed after Stats Perform had previously acquired the live betting streaming rights to the Pro League, replacing rival IMG.
Stats Perform’s other recent business in football includes a betting video and data rights agreement with Brazil’s Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and Série B, a long-term data rights agreement with the United Soccer League and a data deal with the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol).
