Broadcasters in Mexico, France and Italy have acquired rights for the world welterweight title boxing clash between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, which is scheduled to take place this Saturday night in Las Vegas, US.
In Mexico, the Azteca and Televisa networks will share coverage of the fight on free-to-air television.
“Televisa and Azteca must be recognised for their great commitment, for bringing to Mexico this bout for free. This has never, ever happened in any country of the world,” the World Boxing Council said.
French basic-tier broadcaster Ma Chaîne Sport and Italian digital-terrestrial television channel Deejay TV acquired exclusive rights in their respective countries for the fight.
Deejay TV was acquired by media company Discovery in January.
