SuperSport, the pay-television broadcaster that operates in sub-Saharan Africa, has renewed a rights deal for the Uefa Champions League club football competition by a further three years.
The new agreement covers the 2018-19 to 2020-21 seasons.
SuperSport will hold rights across television, mobile and internet platforms throughout sub-Saharan Africa, including South Africa.
Gideon Khobane, chief executive of SuperSport, said: “This is a momentous day for SuperSport. The Uefa Champions League features many of the world’s top players and enthrals soccer fans like little else. We are privileged to be able to tell this great story year after year via high-quality broadcasts.”
SuperSport’s football rights portfolio also includes the English Premier League and the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.
