Erlinda Tabla has been promoted to a role overseeing legal activities at the French operations of Eurosport, the international pay-TV sports broadcaster, and its parent company Discovery.
Tabla has been named vice-president, head of legal at Eurosport, and head of legal at Discovery France.
Based in Paris, Tabla will oversee all legal aspects of Eurosport and Discovery France’s operations, including the negotiation of commercial contracts and rights acquisitions. She assumes the role having joined Eurosport in September 2015 as director of legal, rights acquisitions and talents.
Tabla will report to Hester Wheeley, senior vice-president and head of legal in the EMEA region for Discovery. She replaces Vicky Adalbert who left the company last month.
Andrew Georgiou, president, Eurosport and global sports rights and sports marketing solutions, said: “Erlinda has been a tremendous asset to the business in the time she has been with Eurosport and Discovery and we are delighted she has accepted the opportunity to lead our legal team.”
Tabla joined Eurosport from French production company Marathon Media five years ago where she served as director of legal and business affairs. Prior to that, she worked at telecoms operator SFR, the French arm of international media company Endemol and at French media conglomerate Lagardère.
