Talpa Holding has acquired a 67-per-cent stake in Dutch commercial broadcaster SBS from majority shareholder Sanoma Media.
The deal grants Talpa full ownership of the SBS6, NET5, Veronica and SBS9 television stations.
SBS will complement Talpa in further developing a new Dutch multimedia company with a strong presence in television, radio, print and online.
Under the agreement, Talpa’s stake in television guide business Veronica Uitgeverij will be sold to Finnish-based Sanoma.
The acquisition is pending regulatory approvals and completion of other customary review and approval procedures.
SBS’s rights portfolio includes the Uefa Champions League club football competition.
