Swiss pay-television broadcaster Teleclub has said it will launch a free-to-air sports channel in July.
The new Teleclub Zoom platform will offer exclusive sports content, including live games, covering national and international sport. The channel will also be available via smartphones, tablets and PCs.
Teleclub said the new channel will provide highlights and magazine programming covering the top tier of domestic football, the Super League, along with live games from the second-tier Challenge League.
The new channel will also provide live games from overseas football leagues, as well as selected ice hockey games. Other sports such as tennis, golf and skiing will also be showcased.
“The launch of Teleclub Zoom is a strategically important step for us and a long-cherished wish,” Wilfried Heinzelmann, chief executive of Teleclub and its parent company CT Cinetrade, said. “With Teleclub Zoom, we want to make Teleclub’s high sports competence available to the television audience without restrictions and take it closer to the current happenings in sports.”
