Mexican pay-television operator Televisa has extended a rights deal for North America’s Major League Baseball for three years, from 2016 to 2018.
Under the expanded agreement, Televisa will show a ‘game of the week’ every Saturday afternoon, as well as games on Monday nights and at least one contest on either Tuesday or Thursday nights.
The rights, which include the All-Star Game and the league’s post-season playoffs and World Series, will be exploited on the Televisa Deportes Network.
In other news, Rodrigo Fernández has been appointed as the managing director of Major League Baseball’s new office in Mexico City.
