Chinese online streaming platform Tencent Sports has agreed a three-year deal with the United States Tennis Association for rights to the US Open grand slam tournament.
The contract runs from the 2017 to 2019 editions of the US Open and designates Tencent Sports as the tournament’s exclusive digital media partner in China.
The partnership commenced as the 2017 US Open got underway at Flushing Meadows yesterday (Monday). Tencent Sports will offer exclusive live streaming of the tournament, along with other on-demand content that will also utilise its Tencent News, Tencent Videos, Tencent QQ and Wechat platforms.
The US Open agreement follows similar deals with fellow slams Wimbledon and the French Open.
