The Torneos agency has renegotiated a rights deal with the Argentinian Football Association (AFA) covering the country’s national team and lower-league matches.
Torneos has secured rights for Argentina qualifiers ahead of the 2018 and 2022 Fifa World Cups as well as friendly matches.
The agency has also snapped up rights for the National B Division and First Division B competitions.
The Buenos Aires Herald newspaper said that the total value of the rights acquired by Torneos is ARS1.5bn (€89m/$101m), with the agency paying ARS300m up front. The total value is a 55-per-cent increase on the previously agreed deal.
In other news, US cable-television broadcaster Turner Broadcasting System is reportedly interested in rights for domestic Argentinian football, according to La Nacion.
