Thai pay-television operator TrueVisions will have coverage of a host of leading club football competitions, including the English Premier League, following carriage deals with pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports and Fox Networks Group, the broadcast subsidiary of media company 21st Century Fox.
Under the carriage deal for four beIN Sports channels, TrueVisions subscribers will have access to live matches from the English Premier League, Spanish LaLiga, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga and French Ligue 1, as well as North America’s Major League Soccer, the Uefa Champions League, Uefa Europa League and Uefa Super Cup.
The Fox Sports channels broadcast the Dutch Eredivisie and the Asian Football Confederation’s Champions League and AFC Cup competitions. To accommodate the channels, TrueVisions has launched a top-up package – True Super Soccer – for True Move mobile subscribers who already subscribe to the pay-television service.
Birathorn Kasemsri Na Ayudhya, True Corporation’s chief executive for content and media, said: “We hope that these major sport events will encourage (many of the) 29 million mobile users of True Move to be TrueVisions subscribers via mobile devices, as well as via the traditional pay-TV service.”
