Social media platform Twitter has agreed a deal with UK pay-television broadcaster Sky to show content from the English Premier League and Football League club competitions from the forthcoming 2016-17 season.
Under the deal, Twitter users in the UK and Ireland will be able to view video clips of goals and key moments from all games broadcast by Sky in real time through the SkyFootball Twitter account. The clips content will also include post-match analysis.
Irish Twitter users and Sky Sports subscribers will also be able to view clips from games broadcast at 3pm on a Saturday.
David Gibbs, digital director of Sky Sports and Sky News, said: “With more than 30 million users across a variety of platforms, Sky Sports is already the number one digital destination for sports in the UK. By expanding our partnership with Twitter, we can bring even more great action to an even bigger audience.”
