Digital media company Veqta has unveiled plans to launch an OTT sports service in India.
The service will launch next month, with the venture then rolling out content in a variety of regional languages.
Veqta plans to provide some of the content for free and premium content on-demand, according to the Indian Television news website.
Veqta co-founder and director Varun Mathur said that the service would specialise in providing short-form video content, as well as live streaming of sports matches and events in sports such as cricket, football, motorsports, Olympic sports and tennis.
Veqta has raised $500,000 (€450,000) in seed funding for the venture from investment vehicle Chatsworth Management and sports management company ITW Consulting.
