Terrestrial broadcaster Viasat1 has acquired exclusive free-to-air rights in Ghana for coverage of football’s English Premier League.
The sublicensing deal was agreed with telecommunications company Econet, which has free-to-air rights for the league across sub-Saharan Africa for three seasons, from 2016-17 to 2018-19.
Viasat1’s deal has secured coverage for the 2016-17 season, which begins tomorrow (Saturday).
Viasat1 will show live coverage of matches on Saturday afternoons as well as a Monday afternoon highlights programme and a Friday afternoon preview show.
