The International Rugby Board has said that the 2014 Women’s Rugby World Cup will be broadcast to more homes and countries than ever before.
The competition, which runs from August 1-17 in France, will be broadcast to a potential 289 million homes across the globe, with 306 hours of live rugby broadcast, more than any previous Women’s World Cup. Broadcast deals have been sealed covering 138 territories.
Public-service broadcaster France Televisions and pan-regional broadcaster Eurosport are the host broadcasters of the event, which will also be streamed live in its entirety via the IRB.com website.
The pool stages of the World Cup will be played at French Rugby Federation (FFR) headquarters in Marcoussis, with the semi-finals and final to be staged at the newly redeveloped Stade Jean Bouin in central Paris.
New Zealand will defend its title after beating host nation England to win the 2010 World Cup.
