The Women’s Tennis Association is to launch a new subscription service that will offer live streams and on-demand coverage of matches.
WTA TV will launch on July 31, with viewers able to pay a monthly or annual fee for the service.
An annual subscription will provide access to nearly 2,000 live and on-demand matches from all WTA Premier tournaments and the majority of WTA International competitions.
WTA TV will be available worldwide, except China, where online video platform iQIYI holds WTA rights.
Coverage will be available in high definition, with multi-match viewing and multiple camera coverage to be provided for all main draw singles matches.
The first tournaments to be showcased on WTA TV will be the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford, California and the Citi Open tournament in Washington, DC.
WTA TV has been developed in collaboration with digital sports media company Perform Group, a partner of WTA Media.
