WWE Network launches worldwide

WWE Network, the pay-television channel operated by the WWE wrestling organisation, is now available on an over-the-top basis to more than 170 countries worldwide.

The organisation said that the territories include Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, Spain and the Nordics.

The channel is expected to be available in the UK by October, with further launch dates in Italy, UAE, Germany, Japan, India, China, Thailand and Malaysia to be announced at a later date.

The channel will be available for $9.99 (€7.48) per month for a minimum period of six months.

The price of subscribing for a single month has been reduced from $19.99 to $12.99, with the WWE saying that the new pricing plan “better reflects the variety of economies that exist internationally.”

WWE Network is also now available via Sony internet-connected televisions, Blu-ray Disc players, Blu-ray Home Theater systems and Apple TV, with the channel launching on Samsung Smart TVs from this Friday.
