Thomas Fuhrmann, head of sport at German public broadcaster ZDF, is to relinquish his position in October.

The 56-year-old Fuhrmann is expected to switch to a different position at the broadcaster, according to DPA, the German news agency. The move comes in order to avoid a scenario under which Bettina Schausten, Fuhrmann’s wife and ZDF’s new editor-in-chief, would be his direct superior.
