UK public-service broadcaster the BBC and pay-television broadcaster BT Sport have acquired live, non-exclusive rights to the Scotland national rugby union team’s 2017 autumn Test matches.

UK pay-television broadcaster BT Sport has submitted a multi-million-pound bid to acquire rights for the Scottish national rugby union team’s Autumn Test series, according to the Daily Mail newspaper.

Scottish Rugby earned an increase of more than 70 per cent by selling international rights to its autumn Test matches directly to the Pitch International agency, without offering them to the market.

Scottish Rugby has extended its deal with the Pitch International agency for the distribution of global rights to Scottish national team Autumn Test matches.

The Pitch International agency agreed international rights deals for the Irish, Scottish and Welsh rugby unions earlier this month. The deals will help the agency shore up an international rugby rights portfolio which has come under pressure this year.
