TV RIGHTS DEALS 1: Nigeria’s new Premier League deal, Israeli domestic football

Football: Pan-African broadcaster Supersport acquired the Nigerian rights for the English Premier League in a three-year deal, from 2010-11 to 2012-13, worth $110m (€85m). The deal covers all 380 matches a season and the Premier League Content Service, the league’s new 24-hour channel. Supersport acquired the rights after Nigerian-based broadcaster HiTV, which had acquired the rights last year, failed to make a payment deadline.
