7Sports, the sports business division of German commercial broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 Group, has acquired rights to the inaugural edition of the World Boxing Super Series annual elimination tournament.
7Sports will broadcast live coverage of the 2017-18 season on an exclusive basis in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
The deal includes all fight nights, with coverage to be shown in a combination of free-to-air and pay-per-view formats.
The debut World Boxing Super Series will launch next month. Germany’s Juergen Braehmer (pictured) and Marco Huck, both former world champions, are due to feature in the 2017-18 tournament.
The series will feature two eight-man single-elimination tournaments in two weight classes.
Comos, a Swiss venture comprising owners from agencies such a Highlight Event & Entertainment and Team Sauerland, as well as broadcaster Modern Times Group, are organising the series.
