The Asian Cricket Council has opened a tender process for certain media rights relating to its Asia Cup national team tournaments.
The tender takes in the Asia Cup tournament and its qualifier, Women’s Asia Cup, U19 Asia Cup and Emerging Asia Cup competitions which are scheduled to be held from 2016 to 2023.
The media rights package available for exploitation encompasses television, audio, internet and mobile rights across all territories globally.
The tender document will be made available from today (Monday) until November 20. Bids are to be submitted on November 28, at which point the offers will be opened, evaluated and the tender awarded in the presence of bidders.
A statement read: “The ACC reserves the right, as per its discretion, to cancel or amend the entire bidding process at any stage and to reject any and all bids without being obliged to assign any particular reason for the same.”
Bangladesh was last month confirmed as the host nation of the 2016 Asia Cup, with the tournament set to switch to Twenty20 format for the first time. Next year’s event will mark the third consecutive occasion that the biennial Asia Cup has been held in Bangladesh. The five-nation tournament will feature the hosts, along with India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and an associate team. It will run from February 24 to March 6.
