US entertainment company AMC Networks has rebranded its international television networks division Chellomedia to AMC Networks International.
The announcement comes after AMC Networks concluded a deal to acquire Chellomedia from media company Liberty Global in February 2013 for €750m ($1.03bn).
AMC Networks International will consists of six operating units in the form of AMC Networks International – Asia-Pacific, AMC Networks International – Central Europe, AMC Networks International – Iberia, AMC Networks International – Latin America, AMC Networks International – Zone (EMEA) and AMC Networks International – DMC.
AMC Networks International – Central Europe includes the Sport 1, Sport 2 and Sport M channels. AMC Networks International – Latin America includes the AM Sports channel amongst its portfolio, with Extreme Sports Channel featuring in the AMC Networks International – Zone (EMEA) lineup.
“Re-naming Chellomedia is a natural next step as we continue to integrate this portfolio of channels and transition AMC Networks into a global media company,” AMC Networks chief operating officer Ed Carroll said.
