Mexican telecommunications company América Móvil has acquired rights to broadcast the 2015 European Games across Central and South America, further broadening the reach of the inaugural edition of the multi-sport event.
Baku 2015, the organising committee of the European Games, said América Móvil has acquired rights to broadcast the event through a subsidiary on all media platforms across Latin America, including Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Through the agreement, Baku 2015 has ensured Latin America becomes the latest non-European market in which the European Games will be broadcast, joining deals already agreed in the United States and Canada, India, China, Australia and the Arab world.
The event takes place in the Azerbaijani capital from June 12-28.
