Azerbaijani public-service broadcaster AZTV has acquired free-to-air rights for the Uefa Champions League in a deal covering three seasons, from 2012-13 to 2014-15.
Under the deal, two games will be broadcast live each match night, with one being shown on AZTV’s main channel and the other being broadcast on AZTV’s Idman Azerbaijan sports channel. Idman Azerbaijan will also show a highlights programme on each match night.
The rights can be exploited on the internet and via mobile devices.
The Team Marketing agency brokered the deal on behalf of Uefa, football’s European governing body.
AZTV will replace commercial broadcaster Lider TV as the free-to-air Champions League rights-holder in Azerbaijan.
