Organisers of the 2015 European Games have secured a UK rights partner for the inaugural edition of the multi-sport event after agreeing a deal with pay-television broadcaster BT Sport.
Under the terms, BT Sport will provide daily coverage of the Games – which will take place between June 12-28 in Baku, Azerbaijan – across its three television channels, ‘red button’ service BT Sport Extra and digital platforms.
The deal was signed today (Thursday) as it was announced that a total of 153 athletes have been selected to represent Team GB at the inaugural European Games.
Olympic champions Nicola Adams, Jade Jones and Ed McKeever (pictured) will lead Great Britain at the event.
