Bandsports partners with Sky Brasil for French Open rights

Brazilian satellite-television operator Sky Brasil has agreed a deal with pay-television broadcaster Bandsports to carry coverage of the French Open tennis tournament, according to the Maquina do Esporte website.

Sky will establish a channel dedicated exclusively to the grand slam at no extra cost to its subscribers.

Bandsports acquired exclusive rights for the French Open for five years, from 2013 to 2017, in September 2012. The partnership agreed between Sky and Bandsports will run for the duration of this contract.

The agreement has been struck ahead of this year’s edition of the tournament, which commences in Paris on Sunday.
