UK public-service broadcaster the BBC has agreed a new seven-year rights deal with Britain's Lawn Tennis Association to continue covering the Aegon Championships men’s tournament until at least 2024.
The BBC will continue to provide television, radio and online coverage of the tournament, which serves as a warm-up event for the Wimbledon grand slam event.
The BBC’s previous agreement with the LTA was due to expire following the 2017 event, which takes place at the Queen’s Club in London from June 19-25.
The extension coincides with world No.1 Andy Murray’s announcement that he will continue to compete in the Aegon Championships until he retires. The 29-year-old is the defending champion and has won the tournament a record five times.
