UK public-service broadcaster the BBC has amended an exclusive rights deal for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games to allow other news organisations in the UK to access coverage of the multi-sport event.
The BBC will allow non-rights holders to broadcast short extracts of coverage online and via mobile websites and applications during the Games.
Access will include permission to record Games footage or access coverage from authorised sources.
Non-rights holders are permitted to use up to 90 seconds of Games footage per day over a maximum of six short extracts each day.
