UK public-service broadcaster the BBC will show live coverage of this year’s British Basketball League and Women’s British Basketball League play-off finals, which will both take place in London on May 8.
The BBC will air the season finales of the club competitions via its interactive Red Button service and online via the BBC Sport website.
The BBL play-off final is scheduled to take place at 3.30pm, with the WBBL edition getting underway at 6pm. It will mark the first time both games have taken place on the same day.
“We are delighted to be able to partner with the BBC to show both finals live and this coverage should serve to not only promote the event itself, but the sport in general,” BBL commercial director Bob Hope said. “It promises to be a great day for the basketball community, but hopefully having the BBC coverage will mean we can attract even more new fans to the sport.”
