Al Jazeera-owned pay-television broadcaster beIN Sport has announced it will launch next month in Hong Kong, Thailand, the Philippines and Taiwan.
The launch will be managed in partnership with the MP & Silva agency. The four south east Asian markets will be offered a tailored line-up of the broadcaster’s three high-definition sports channels.
Hong Kong will receive the beIN Sport 1 HD and 2 HD channels, with only beIN Sport 1 HD being available in Thailand. The Philippines and Taiwan will receive both channels, along with beIN Sport 3 Premier League HD – the broadcaster’s channel dedicated to the top division of English football.
The news follows this week’s launch of the beIN Sport channels in Indonesia.
Nasser Al Khelaifi, chairman of beIN Sport, said: “Asia is a very important market for beIN Sport and we hope to continue the pace of expansion here as we seek new opportunities for growth.”
