US pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports has made its first move into college sport by agreeing a deal with the Conference USA organisation.
In its upfront presentation earlier this week, beIN Sports said it would carry “U.S. college football and basketball” for the first time, without naming its partner.
According to multiple reports, this partner is Conference USA, whose member colleges are mainly located in the southern United States.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Virginian-Pilot newspaper said beIN Sports will become the fourth television partner for Conference USA, which has yet to announce its broadcast partners or schedule for next season.
It has previously been reported that C-USA and the Fox Sports division of the Fox network will part ways after a five-year partnership, with sports broadcaster ESPN, pay-television broadcaster CBS Sports Network and American Sports Network, the college sports platform operated by television broadcasting company Sinclair Networks Group, covering C-USA games.
