Pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports has expanded its reach in Canada by agreeing to make its beIN Sports Xtra channel available via Samsung TV Plus.
Samsung TV Plus is provided with the Korean consumer electronics manufacturer’s smart televisions, and is a free, ad-supported video service encompassing 35 channels across news, sports and entertainment.
BeIN Sports Xtra is beIN’s free, English-language streaming channel. While live sports are postponed during Covid-19, beIN Sports Xtra in Canada is airing a selection of football content, featuring historic matches from Spanish LaLiga, French Ligue 1, and Turkish Süper Lig; adventure sports; and original programming including magazine show Sports Burst.
The beIN Sports Xtra service was added to Samsung TV Plus service in the US market in February.
Streaming platforms Roku and Xumo last month both signed distribution agreements in Canada for beIN Sports Xtra.
