Roku TV and Xumo bring beIN Sports Xtra to Canada

Streaming platforms Roku and Xumo have both signed distribution agreements in Canada with pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports, allowing them to add the beIN Sports Xtra streaming service to their respective offerings.

The free English-language channel can now be streamed on The Roku Channel on Roku streaming players or on Roku TV devices. The channel is also available free of charge on Xumo TV’s ad-supported streaming TV service or online (at www.xumo.tv).

Kaylyn Kyle, the former Canadian women’s international soccer player and a pundit for beIN Sports, said: “It’s a great time to bring beIN Sports Xtra to Canada. beIN Sports is broadcasting some of the most exciting matches of the year over the next few months, including live coverage of ongoing LaLiga, Ligue 1, Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, and Turkish SüperLig soccer.”

The Qatar-backed pay-television broadcaster launched the free streaming service in the US just under six months ago, offering live sports, news, analysis and highlights in a bid to boost the broadcaster’s brand awareness and help bring in new subscribers.

The beIN Sports Xtra channel was recently added to Samsung TV Plus and ViacomCBS’s Pluto TV in the US market.
