UK pay-television boxing channel BoxNation will launch a new high-definition service in February next year.
BoxNation Live HD will debut with the February 8 show from London’s Copper Box Arena, featuring the first fights of 2014 for high-profile British boxers Dereck Chisora and Nathan Cleverly.
The channel will then show all live fights in high-definition at no further cost to BoxNation subscribers on the BSkyB pay-television platform.
BoxNation managing director Jim McMunn said: “The channel has grown at a remarkable rate and the obvious next step for us was to invest in an HD channel. Our subscribers had been calling for it, so we are thrilled to be able to offer this service to them.”
Founded by UK boxing promoter Frank Warren in 2011, BoxNation’s monthly subscription service has aired bouts featuring global superstars Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao during 2013.
