Organisers of the Gavitt Tipoff Games have announced that broadcast coverage of the new US collegiate sports competition will be split between international sports broadcaster ESPN, the Fox Sports division of US network Fox and the Big Ten Network (BTN) cable television broadcaster.
Established by the Big East and Big Ten US collegiate sports conferences, the Gavitt Tipoff Games will be an annual early-season series of eight men’s basketball games played between the two conferences. Games will be played on four consecutive days in the first full week of the college basketball season.
Television coverage of the Gavitt Tipoff Games will be controlled by the conference of the home team.
Big East home games will be telecast by Fox Sports 1. Big Ten home matches will be broadcast by ESPN or BTN.
The Gavitt Tipoff Games will begin in 2015-16 and run for eight years, through to 2022.
