Broadcasters sign on for Hockey World League Final

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has unveiled a host of broadcast partners for its 2015 men’s Hockey World League Final national team event, which will be played in Raipur, India between November 27 and December 6.

The FIH said Asian pay-television broadcaster Star Sports will broadcast the tournament in its host nation, while public-service broadcasters Canal Siete and NOS will offer coverage in Argentina and the Netherlands, respectively.

Malaysian pay-television operator Astro has also acquired rights, while pay-television broadcasters OSN and SuperSport will cover the event in North Africa and the United Arab Emirates, as well as South Africa, respectively.

Public-service broadcaster PTV has acquired rights in Pakistan and pay-television broadcaster Willow TV will provide access in the United States.

The event will feature the eight national teams who qualified through the Hockey World League Semi-Finals in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Antwerp, Belgium.

They are Australia, ranked No.1 in the FIH World Rankings, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, Argentina, India and Canada.

This will be the first international hockey event to be staged not only in the newly built Raipur International Hockey Stadium, but also in the city of Raipur, the capital of India’s Chhattisgarh state.
