UK telecommunications company BT will launch its new pay-television service BT Sport with exclusive live coverage of the testimonial football match for Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard.
In addition to live coverage of the game between Liverpool and Greek club Olympiacos, BT Sport will also show pre- and post-match interviews with Gerrard.
The match will take place at Liverpool’s Anfield ground on August 3.
All money raised from the game, including BT Sport’s payment for the exclusive live rights, will be paid directly to the Steven Gerrard Foundation, which supports children’s charities.
The match coverage will kick off BT Sport’s new live sports service, which will include live coverage of 38 games from the English Premier League for the next three seasons.
