UK pay-television broadcaster BT Sport has acquired live rights to the 2016 edition of the British Darts Organisation’s World Professional Darts Championship.
BT Sport will present nightly coverage of the championship, which takes place at the Lakeside Country Club in Surrey, England from January 2-10. As was the case with this year’s championship, it will share coverage with public-service broadcaster the BBC.
In all, BT Sport will broadcast over 34 hours of action over the course of the week-long event.
Scott Mitchell (pictured) and Lisa Ashton are the defending champions of the respective men’s and women’s titles.
