Pay-television broadcaster BT Sport has acquired rights in the UK and Ireland for the 2015 Hockey World League Finals.
BT Sport struck the deal with the FIH, hockey’s global governing body.
BT Sport will broadcast every game from the men’s Hockey World League Final in Raipur, India, from November 27 to December 6 and every contest from the women’s Hockey World League Final in Rosario, Argentina, from December 5-13.
The FIH said BT Sport and the sport’s governing body had “shown considerable desire to explore further opportunities for the sport as the UK gets set to host several key hockey events over the next three years.”
London will host the FIH Champions Trophy in 2016 and the Hockey World League semi-finals in 2017, and the Olympic Park at Lee Valley will stage the Hockey World Cup in 2018.
