Pay-television operator Canal Plus has acquired rights in Spain for events on the ATP World Tour, the top men’s tennis tour.
The deal will run for four years, from 2015 to 2018.
Under the agreement, Canal Plus will show all Masters 1,000 tournaments and 12 ATP 500 events, 11 of which will be shown on an exclusive basis, and a selection of third-tier ATP 250 tournaments.
The deal excludes the Madrid Masters event, but includes the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals.
In striking the deal, Canal Plus dislodged public-service broadcaster TVE as the rights-holder for the tournaments.
