Canal Plus picks up NBA rights in Africa

Pay-television broadcaster Canal Plus has acquired rights in several African countries for the NBA North American basketball league.

The broadcaster will show the coverage in 20 countries, including Senegal, the Ivory Coast and Cameroon.

Under the deal, live coverage of two games per week late on Tuesday and Wednesday nights will be shown on the Canal Plus and Canal Plus Sport channels with immediate effect.

The agreement also includes a weekly magazine programme.

The length of the deal was not disclosed.
